[Kid Icarus (VGDC)]

Quite disappointing.

Didn't laugh, didn't even smile. Hearing that commercial on the radio for the first time kinda made me chuckle, but when you completely misapplied it, and paired it senselessly with some old video game, it didn't fail to baffle me. There were minimal, highly-stretched visual jokes to accompany an already weak audio clip. Messing around with flipping sprites is a fad that I'm getting tired of, and an actual plot for this mindless drivel would be highly welcome. Look, that guy fell in the fire. Look, Kid Icarus is lifting weights. And one last thing. I know that you didn't write the caption on the front page for this movie, but why in hell did ANYONE (Tom, Wade, whomever) think that sounded even remotely similar in the ears of a retard to Strongbad?

when superman was thinking, why was there a picture of a sawing log? have you ever watched a cartoon in your life... EVER? sawing logs are for when someone is sleeping.

i'm not really sure what to say... that had such potential, and then you illustrated it with stick figures.... not GOOD stick figures, mind you, but stick figures that i could have drawn with a pencil sticking out of my ass... that combined with spelling words wrong in the movie was a big letdown. monster... not monstar. you're old enough to not make stupid mistakes like that.

that was a lot of fun to watch! i don't say this very often about Newground's "series", because most authors have no storytelling ability, but i'm pretty excited to see the next episodes of this! when might we expect them? i'm sure they're not easy to just throw together, but i'm pretty anxious to see what's coming. one suggestion i had, though. (its a little thing, but it caught my attention) when the three servants of Dr. Agon are walking down that hallway, why not have them taking sychopated steps? because they were walking in perfect harmony, they looked more like a mirror image than an individual servant.. maybe just have them take alternating steps... i don't know :) anyway, i very much enjoyed this! thanks for the contribution!

but not quite. i can't deny that this was one of the most beautiful pieces of flash i've ever watched, and for that, you definitely deserve laudation... however, you suffer from what I call the "artist's disease". that was soooo damn vague! you communicated just about nothing through it. the last line says something about how life is never what you expect. yes, obviously. communicate some truth to us that you've learned from your life... express to us a problem you overcame... your mother was 14 when you were born? integrate that into your film.. please don't be discouraged by what I write, because I honestly feel that you're one of the most promising artists on this site... but please cure yourself of the 'artist's disease' of vagueness. tell us something, give us a message. your art is a powerful tool, so use it! :) great work!

this is SO CLOSE to being good...

daniel, i don't mean to be discouraging, but unfortunately, you're just another example of a newgrounds artist who spends hours drawing, and minutes thinking. for example, in 1952, NO ONE payed $10,000,000 for ANYTHING. that kind of money was unheard of in 1952. i payoff of $100,000 would be more understandable. also, a dirty, unshaven 'franky' is picked up off the side of the road on past references and offered ten million dollars just like THAT? like most newgrounds artists, your time would be better spent actually RESEARCHING the mafia of the 1950's, because it was very different from what it is today... additionally, for the plot... where does franky come from? its a little bit boring to watch just another character without a personality shoot guns on newgrounds. however, i can't be all negative. you DID work very hard on the animation, and that much is evident. i've tried to use flash before, and your skills far outweigh mine. for a beginner, you're excellent, so keep improving. just make sure that you stop falling into the pitfall that most artists on newgrounds fall into... drawing without thinking.. but good work, i will definitely be looking for part two. you've established yourself well.

this is pretty typical of newgrounds.... someone who has decent artistic skills spells like a moron. the "batcholer"? you seriously don't know how to spell bachelor? buddy, if you suck that bad at spelling.... LOOK THE DAMN WORDS UP. you obviously spent a lot of time animating this quite well, so why make it look shitty with spelling that a junior high retard could match?
